tow bar

Hi,

Please could I ask the forum for advice,we have just retired and want to start caravanning. we have just bought a Suzuki grand vitara ..2002..2.oltr TB in order to pull a caravan ..when we buy one. I have noticed that the tow bar a removable one..a swan neck I'm told..seems higher than normal .I have measured it and it is 201/2 ins to mid ball from the ground. Is this too high for a van? will I have to have it changed? is it possible to take out the present one and replace it with a different shape bar without having to replace the whole fitting.John.

Hi John

Welcome to the forum. The height from the ground to the centre of your towball should be between 350mm - 420mm when the towing vehicle is fully laden.
