Hello HMV

To be able to offer any detailed advice we need far more detail about the car and caravan, such as the exact year, fuel, engine size, auto /manual gear box, body style and any trim variations,

This is necessary as each variation may have alternative towing limits and capacities.

I do concur with Forest that most of the 407 models do have quite limited
Tow ball limits, which may be a significant factor, but lets not jump to conclusions until we have the facts.

However, I must warn you about any advice we offer is only based on the data available from third party web sites. It is known that most of these sites are either incomplete, or contain some inaccurate information. The same applies to the web site that Surfer suggests so only consider it a guide rather than gospel.

All the data you need is available from your car and tow bar data plates, the V5 document or the cars handbook. Equally the caravan handbook or manufacturers details. Working out the allowable weights is not too difficult provided it is taken step by step
