Towbar wiring kia sorento help

Hi all

I replaced the sockets on the towbar at the weekend and now have a problem. The 12n type socket is fine and works normally but the 12s socket is dead with no power on any of the pins. I have checked all the fuses in the driver footwell and all are okay. Earth pins are all grounded. If anyone could give me any pointers I would be grateful. Seems like I have blown a fuse but where might it be located?

Sorento is a 2003 model

Just checked all the fuses in the box between the battery and n/s wing. All are okay. Are there any other fuse boxes?. I know about the glow plug fuse box and it's not that one

Which relay?. This is the problem don't have a clue where the feeds come from. Any ideas where the relay might be mounted

To show live feeds on the 12S socket.........

Pin 1 needs the vehicle reversing lights to be in use.
Pins 2 and 6 need the vehicle engine to be running.
Pin 4 should be live at all times if the towbar fitter wired it to a suitable positive feed.
If they did connect pin 4..........a fuse will be fitted, usually near that connection to the positive feed and normally in the vehicle engine compartment.

You'll need to trace the grey 7 core cable back from the socket which should eventually lead you to the relay - a small box with a connecting strip, usually marked for 12v, 6,4,2 pins and an earth. The 12 volt connection should come directly from the car battery - through a fuse, and if the fuse is OK, should be live. The relay will be out of sight usually in the boot area. There might also be another relay (but with more connections) but that is for the road lighting.
I suppose the big benefit of doing your own installation is that you know where everything is when it goes wrong.

Pin 4 was connected as the atc came on when plugged in. Have checked pins with engine running.

Have checked the harness back through the boot are taking the panels off the rear quarters but no relays only the indicator sounder.
Will take battery out next see if I can see anything in the engine compartment.
