Towing Capability of Zaphira

Can anyone give me a definitive answer to this question?

We are confused as to the actual towing capacity of the Vauxhall Zaphira. We currently have an Opel Zaphira 2.0dti 2004 and have an Adria Altea 432px (1100kg) we have been told the zaphira can only pull 1050kg, so are currently towing with another car. However whattowcar.com says the two are a perfect match. We would like a new 1.9DTi Zaphira but need a definite answer as to what it can pull.We understand the 120bhp can pull 1300-1400kg and the 150bhp can pull 1500kg.

Can anyone confirm this??

Firstly, if your Adria Altea has a max weight of 1100kg, there is nothing wrong with towing it with your present 2.0 diesel Zafira with a maximum towload of 1050kg. The 1100kg is the total weight of the caravan, the 1050kg only the maximum axle load. Therefore there is no contradiction between the two figures.

The 2.2 diesel with a towload of 1500kg was never available in the UK, only the 2.2 petrol.

The current 1.9CDTI Zafiras have a max. towload of 1300kg (120hp manual), 1400kg (120hp automatic), and 1500kg (manual and automatic). You can check all these figures on the Vauxhall website.
