At this time of year your obvious weak spots are damp and corrosion through lack of use.

For a start check the connectors at the front of van/ rear of car.

Give them a fettling with emery cloth and try again.

After that, if no good check the fuses inside the van.
 
In addition to whathas been posted about checking the van and car plugs/sockets, remove light covers and clean each bulb and holder with electrical contact spray.

Over the winter the bulb and holder suffer from oxidation which will cause lights to not work.
