towing stability

All other conditions being equal, large twin axles are marginally more stable than the same size of single axle caravan. Size matters, though. Often, they are compared with smaller single axled ones (an unfair comparison) and, in that case, the improvement can be quite appreciable.

There was a picture in a mag (maybe PC) where a Range rover pulling a twin axle on the M5 had turned over.

The RR had a boat on the roof, going down hill with a cross wind.

What happened?

Was thr RR going too fast down hill?

Was it hit by a gust of wind?

Did air get under the font of the boat (it was upside down)& make it unstable?

Was the caravan loaded correctly?

No one knows the answer to the accident, but it goes to show it can happen to any body, twin axle or not
