Can anyone help? I have a 2008 1.6 Zafira. Just got a Compass Omega 430. I cant work out the caravan weight etc (daftie!) It says 1988 and 1300kg on the tow hitch (if this is what its called). Am I going to be able to tow this safely and legally? I shouldve sorted this before buying, I know now, but hey Im that type of person. Would this weight of 1300kg be unladen weight of van or laden??????????
 
The maximum permissible towload of a 1.6 Zafira is 1000kg. Therefore, the 1300kg shown on the caravan is going to be way over the limit, regardless of whether it refers to the laden or unladen weight.

Some caravans have a weight on the hitch that says max weight that that hitch can tow (marked on by the producer of the hitch) rather than the weight of the caravan. Should there not be either a plate on the caravan telling you the weights or on the chasis?
