Towing with 2.0 x type diesel jaguar

Has any one any experiance towing with this car please.i tow a vintage buccaneer at the moment with a merc E200 petrol.also any information on tow bars and twin electric for the jag. Thanks Geoff Hage.

I tow a 1480kg caravan with a 2.2d X-type. It makes a great job of it. Very stable indeed, passing HGV's is no trouble at all - you dont feel the outfit move & it doesnt get blown about. Its the best tow car i've had & i've had a few over the years!

If you have reversing sensors you need a detachable towbar or the sensors will drive you mad everytime you reverse. I have a witter detachable that I fitted DIY. The wiring can be done by any competant fitter using a 7 way bypass relay but I used the plug & play kit available from the main dealer for both 12n & 12s. Its not cheap at about

I forgot to say mine is a sport premium so the suspension is stiffer & it has 18" wheels & low profile tyres. Maybe these help to make the outfit so sure footed? I dont know.
