Has anybody towed with a C5 apparently there a good tow car and can tow a maximum of 1700kgs thats the hatch anyway. We have a padgent 5 provance with a 1401 max weight and its never anywhere near full to the brim as most things like clothes and that go in the boot.

Please advise

PS a extra bonus is that if you are buying s/h they are a bargain

Hi thanks for the reply we are thinking buying the 138bhp 2litre diesel the hatch back as its towing limit is higher than the estate 1700kgs its the exclusive model with all the toys its about4 months old and were saving something like

I had a 2.0 HDi 110 C5 for about 3 years towing a Bailey Auvergne with a Max of 1301kg it made 3 long haul trips down to Costa Brava without any fuss (came back each time much better with the full payload taken up with grog). The best thing with the C5 is the self levelling suspension which keeps everything nicely balanced.

Andy,

I have a 2005 C5 2.0 Hdi (136Bhp) and it tows our van a Bailey Pageant Bretagne easily with a slighly higher MTPLM than that you mentioned. You will need the same model as us because it has the 1700Kg towing limit, and 320nm of torque.

We have no problems at all, plenty of power in reserve and average 26mpg whilst towing.

I have just ordered a chip for mine from germany which will enhance this to 175 Bhp and 400NM of torque, and all for the cost of about

Can you let me know how your car goes with the chip in as i might look in to chipping mine.

Andy
No problem, I take it you now have the C5. Which model did you go for, and how are you finding it with towing
