Towing with C Max 1.8 TDCI

Can anybody offer advice re towing with a 1.8 TDCI C Max , , needs to pull between 1240 and 1313 depending on if we change the van .

Would go for 2.0 TDCI but are limited on price vs mileage , do not want one with more than say 25k on clock .

The 1.8tdci is the one to avoid in Fords diesel range. Its old & unrelated to the modern 1.6 & 2.0 diesels.

If the price of a 2.0 TDCi C max is too high, try a 150 hp Zafira CTDI - there are some really good deals around and the Zafira is a bit heavier and all 150 hp diesels have ESP standard.

The 2.0tdci in our s-max has eaten 1 flywheel and an egr valve in 37k.

If you want a reliable car then get something that is 10 yrs old! Modern cars with all the anti pollution cr*p and electronic gizmo's are unreliable heaps of junk (and thats a Ford dealer saying that!)
