Vauxhall Vectra Ls, 2.2td, 5-door, estate,

Can anyone tell me if they tow with the Vauxhall Vectra LS 2.2td.

I am thinking of buying this car to tow by Bailey Senator Arizona.

Any problems etc?

Need some fast feed back to help me make the right choice. Would appreciate your reply!!!

regards

Pat

you dont say what year it is.if its the 02 onwards facelift model do not buy it.there are known problems with the engine management cutting the turbo to limp home mode when towing,i had to sell mine after a year as vauxhall couldnt fix it.

keep looking

HI Patsy, I have a 51 plate vauxhall vectra 2.2 dti ls estate, just passed the 80,000 miles trouble free motoring we tow a Bailey ranger 460/4 , there has been a lot of heated discussions in the past on this forumn with regards to the poor engines within Vectras along with Fords, spoke in great depth to our local vauxhall Dealers about the comments given within this forumn about the engine systems ,His comments where that the few they have had where down to bad earthing .

My neighbour across the road had a original Ford Mondeo where the common cause for complant was tracking , he never had any problems , changed it for the brand new version, he has had to call the RAC out on numerious occasions not a happy motorist.

Thanks for your message Dave, I eventually bought Saab 2.2. TID, which I only hope is o.k. Getting advice on the right car is so full of problems, but hey fingers crossed, we will be o.k.

Thanks again

Thanks for your message Royston.

I eventually bought a 2005 2.2 Saab Estate, which I was told would pull the van nicely. So fingers crossed I hope we will be.

Thanks for your time.

Patsy.
