Hi me and my wife are hoping to get a used tourer soon. we have been doing some research, magazines etc. My only problem is that im finding it difficult getting all the relevant info regarding the spec of my vehicle as i understand that will have the overriding factor in the type of van we can get. I have a japanese imported 1993 k reg 8 seater toyota lucida estima 2.2 turbo diesel. I only have a translated handbook which doesnt give the relevant details. I went to a caravan dealer who looked online but couldnt find it either, but he did mention something about a figure of 1900? Please could someone shed any light on my problem and tell me where i might find all the details i will need, as we dont want to waste time looking at vans that aren't suitable.

i would really appreciate any help.

A typical problem with 'grey' imports!

Maybe your best bet for an answer is the Toyota Estima Owners Club

hi Ray. i bought the car 2 years ago it already had the towbar and 2 sockets for the electrics, as i believe the previous owner had a van.

Just an idea would the previous owner know if he had a van before ?

Whilst it is not a dead cert, I believe the Estima was the same model as the UK Previa's

All the info I can find on the Previa's lists max tow as 1600Kg

been on their forum, but noone seems to be sure, have some vague figures but nothing precise.
