Toyota Landcruiser 3.3L

2.8 and 200 bhp-struggle in places. You can't say that without giving us more OC! We tow 2 tonnes and plenty in the truck bed with ease with a 2.3 193bhp Navara-even towed the van with full awing spare gas and mobility scooter at one point (when I broke my heel!).

It was TIC. Also if you want to go into the jungle take a Land Rover. If you want to come out again take a Toyota. 😀

When my son's camp got flooded, the only vehicles that would start after 2 days of being in water and with minimum work were the Landcruisers which are different to the ones seen on our roads. Their LC never had cabs and were open as designed for carrying tourists in the game park.Toyota Land Cruiser1.jpg

The LC used by the UN and aid agencies bear no relation to those on sale here. They are still relatively old school but can be serviced or repaired using local skills.

Every now and then one comes up for sale but you can bet your bottom dollar that it has been hammered. Plenty available now in Afghanistan.
