Hi Gumbo,

Yes, we have an XC90. 2.4litre diesel. Bought new on a 57 plate. Absolutely fantastic towcar. Have done 24,000 miles so far. Zero problems. It has been back to the dealers only for the complimentary 3 month quality control check (only a software upgade needed apparently); and for the 18,000 mile/first year service which I had negotiated as free at the time of purchase. So only the consumables as an expense so far.

For more details, search for the "bye bye l200 hello xc90" thread under towcars started by Gareth in October last year.

Happy to field and questions.

Cheers

Hi,

I also tow with an XC90 D5 Geartronic on a 54 Plate.

Like everyone states brilliant towcar tug with all luxuries.

I tow a T/A Buccaneer Caravel MTPLM 1900KG with no problems.

On Motorways i tend to travel at about 55mph on cruise control and return almost 23mpg up at 60mph which i tend to avoid it drops down to about 19mpg.

no problems with car just 2 front tyres & set of brakes over last 18mths i would definately recommend

Hi Gumbo

I have to ask this, sorry in advance!

Will you be restricting your new car insurance to Third Party only ( Statutory requirement) and covering the own damage aspect within your new consortium? Think of the premium savings.

Cheers

Don't be silly Dustydog, the car will be on the road 360 days a year, the caravan in only on the road for 10/15 days different RISK.
