Be very aware of the instant fine payments for traffic offences

france/spain etc.

A minor offence "waiting on double yelows while looking at map"

£60.00 instant no discussion no leniency.

If you do not have the cash you can be in deep trouble.

Can't say that I've ever seen 'Double Yellows' on the continent.

Do you mean ones like those that we use to prohibit parking, or double lines in the road centre.

If it is the latter you'd deserve to be fined, and furthermore they are usually white.

Yes, must admit I agree with the poster above who says if you've stopped on double yellows in the middle then you deserve to be done.

In reply to "Evans in Sprot", double yellow in the middle indicate road works in Spain and there are a lot of road works in Spain!

I have just come back from a four week motorcycling holiday which took me from Santander to Malaga, Marbella, Gibraltar, Siguenza, Pyrenees, Dordogne, Brittany and Normandy about 4000 miles in all. During this time I saw lots of motorhomes and caravans and the only ones being driven badly were British Plated I'm ashamed to say.

We even saw a couple on the side of the road having a drink where a few kilometres down the road was a service stop with a large car park.

All the best

Mark
