Hi Al welcome to the forum. I can't answer your question but reposting in the Overseas section might get you more responses from our regular long-haulers. Hope you have a great trip.

Welcome to the Forum A & J, , I was In Frienbach, south of Zurich in October, not caravanning, but if you are going to use any of the motorways, which are easier and faster for getting around , you will need a vignette, for both car and caravan. Obtainable at border crossings and some garages, also from tourist board in the UK. . Last from December to January the next year. Lots of mountain passes to avoid to the south west of Zurich, but depends on the size of your caravan. And where your going.
Have fun

You will also need a vignette or vignettes for Austria.

Hi there. Just to let you know, I've posted your query to the Practical Caravan social media channels – many experienced caravanners engage with us there, so they might have some useful insights. Check out the Facebook link here, the Twitter link here and to see the Google+ link please click here.

I hope that helps!

Hi I think Lizzie Pope tried to give you a link to my website
here

You will find we have been travelling to Ausria and Germany for 12 years with our caravan. I have given accounts of all our Trips year by year. There is info on the Countries we have most visited, Campsites we use reviews and Routes with Caravan sites en route.
Have a look and please contact me with any questions you might have.

I have planned many Trips for other MHomers/Caravanners and happy to do that for anyone going for the first time to Europe or Area we have visited.

We have only visited Switzerland once and found it very expensive and added to with the Vignette for both Car and Caravan now about £60 in Total ridiculous. We did not find Switzerland nearly as pretty or friendly as Austria so have not been back. Vignette for Austria is 8.80 Euro for 10 days approx £6. 30 or 2 Months £18, 60 against 38.50 Euros £28 for Motorhome £56 for Car+Caravan.

Yes have been to Nattersee it is a very good Campsite but there are others in Austria and Germany equal or better.
