Hi Jo-anne

Been many times.

The access road in and out is excellent, no problem for your little outfit. LOL!

Last year the wardens were very flexible on arrival times. I noted one arrival just after 11.00am. The downside for him may have been less choice of pitches as people were still in the process of departing.

They like you leave your outfit at reception, walk the site and then go back to reception and tell them which pitch you want. Never been a problem for me.

Had pitch 55 last year, one of the biggest and best imo.

It can get very windy and the awning really needs to be storm lashed. 3 years ago the wardens asked us all to take our awnings down because a storm was expected over night. One bloke left his up. It was gone by the morning.

The sunsets are fabulous. Plenty to do in the area.

One of my favourites.

Cheers

NOTE, when people say windy they mean hurrican force, we lost our awning there as did six others, and we were told this happens regularly, so much that lots do not bother with an awning, stunning site and great area but my wife will never go back to Cornwall because last five visits have been great weather first few days, then rain non stop, and those who say no such thing as bad weather, just wrong clothing, true to a point, but rain all day and night does get boring.

Hi Jo-Anne

Been to this site a couple of times and going again this year, and just love it!! Pitches are a good size with the exception of a couple that are a bit tight lengthwise for our van (23'7". Access is no problem and toilet and shower block are all new and clean. Views are stunning, and there are plenty of good walks along the coastal path - about two and half miles one way to Tintagel, and two and a half miles the other to Boscastle (with lots of ups and down to contend with).

As Dustydog says, on arrival you need to choose your pitch first before being let on with the outfit as people already on site tend to move from one pitch to another as people leave in order to get a 'better spot', (take a water carrier or something with you to 'reserve' it if no one is able to stand there, or you might find it taken!!).

Also, yes there are strong winds but that's to be expected on a coastal site - it whipped our awning over the top of the van last year as we were trying to take it down before the storm came, but thanks to our friendly neighbours were able to get it back in one piece!!

Go for it Jo-Anne, you won't be disappointed!!!!

There about 3 yrs ago. One thing you have to know is that there's only about half a dozen sought after pitches. Arrive wrong time and you find yourself at back of a large pitching field some way from facillities views etc.

We travelled from another Cornish site and to comply with the CC club rule 12.00 arrival time waited 20 minutes in layby before entering site only to find, youve guessed it, we were at back of above mentioned field. Next morning 08.30 there were 3 outfits waiting at the gate to be let in at 09.00!

By 10.00 all availble preffered sites had gone and any further arrivals went of course to the back field.

Now I am not going to debate the many vacuous CC club rules that seem to be bent/broken at every turn these days other than to say if you cant beat them join them and lay up in a CL overnight (good one at Launceston Mrs North) and get to this site early if you want a choice of pitches.

Good luck,

Paul

We went for the first time earlier in the year. Had a wonderful pitch (for us) at the end overlooking the (empty) camping field. The tarmac had been extended down recently to access this area and a new portaloo (with showers) was due to open the following week. Must rank as one of the most spectacular sites.

Hello Jo-anne,

We stayed at this site for the first time last Oct half-term and we loved it! We have booked again to go this Oct.

We had a lovely pitch, nice and big and had STUNNING views over the sea!

We went on lovely walks to Boscastle and Tintagel on the coast paths, both we found to be easy walks, we really like Boscastle, especially the lunch time deal one of restaurants were doing - soup and a sandwich for under a fiver and both were gorgeous!

I would certainly recommend this site to anyone.

Best wishes,

Jonah.

Hi Jo-Anne,

We have just retrurned fron Tintagel, as previous posts say, what fantastic views, and the sunsets are amazing, while we were there last week there were signs saying there was a pair of mating adders, the sign said if we leave them alone they should leave us alone. we never had any problems with them, but, it was reported that one chap woke up one day to be greeted with a baby adder in his awning.....apart from that, everything else is spot on, the access road to the sight is plenty big enough for twin axle caravans to negotiate, pitch sizes vary but are large. we had pitch 86 and found no probs for t/a awning and 2 cars. facilities are spotless. we would definatley go again.
