Truma accessory

I am told that there is an accessory that can be used to pipe heat from your existing heater in the caravan into the awning. Has any one come across this?

We have one of these fitted as standard to our van, but you do lose the heat from inside when you use this outlet.

Hello Ian,

such devices do exsist but as Shiba has pointed out you loose some heat to the main caravan, and I am not sure how effective they work in the awning.

Being canvas or nylon and relatively thin, any hot air put into the awning will very quickly disperse. You might have better success with an elecric fan heater, or a radient heater which at least you can feel the heat before is percolulates through the roof to the great outdoors.

There are several models of radient heaters, some use gas others use mains electricity, and probably comparable to the cost of the Truma kit.

Hi, Go to the truma website. All of their parts are listed and you can get guideline prices too. It's not too much hassle to fit an external outlet, but the effectiveness is going to be governed by the size of your awning and the ambient temperature.
