Hi all.
I have sourced a new element for my caravan heater, and I was wondering what is the difference between the truma s3002p, s3002 and the s5002 heaters. My manual covers all 3

All the models you mention are gas powered heaters using a cast aluminium heat exchanger.

The S3002 and S3002p each use one exchanger and are identical except the S3002 has a battery powered auto reignition unit to ignite the gas, where as the "p" suffix means it has a manual push button Piezo ignitor.

The S5002 uses two heat exchangers that are permanently fixed together with two burners to virtually double the heat output. It also uses the battery powered auto reignition unit.

The element you have is actually a Truma Ultraheat and is technically a separate product option that has to be used with one of the above gas heaters.

Thanks for explaining that.

I have sourced a new element for my caravan heater,

Before you can fit the new heater element, the gas must be turned off and disconnected from under the caravan. Then the flue pipe needs disconnecting from the heat exchanger and the heat exchanger removed. It is essential that a new gasket is fitted before refitting the flue pipe. Finally, on safety grounds, pressure test the entire gas system and check that the CO detector is functioning.
