Truma heater

Hi, I have a problem with the electric/gas truma central heating fan in my caravan. When I initially switch on the heating (either source), everything works OK. As the heater warms up, the fan then starts to run slower (in either fan position) and before the heater has really got up to heat, the fan eventually stops altogether. I have cleaned it (stripping it down and using a small paintbrush) but to no avail. Any ideas as to what may be wrong?
Cheers

Hello Stuart

You don't say how old your van is but .....

I had the same problem myself earlier on in the year, when i looked into where the motor brushes go i could see that the armature was very worn and so were the motor brushes, so I replaced the motor for a new one .... 😉 If you look on the back of the housing cover it will tell you the model that is fitted ...

This is the armature and one of the brushes as you can see it's worn out.

Thanks "Sproket" I ordered new brushes which arrived Friday, fitted Saturday and now working fine. (I should have realised the problem as I used to work at an electric motor manufacturer) Thanks again and hope we don't need to use the heater this "summer"
