Truma heating problem

Our fan on Truma heater would only run on full speed on our recent outing I am presuming that I need a new fan control switch ,are there any checks I need to do before I replace it.Van is an Indiana S6

In my caravan parts box I have a brand new control switch . I bought it thinking mine was faulty but having changed it I realized it was OK. The fault was in the pcb which when changed got the fan working again.
