And if you are going to add or edit POI files, you may want to download the free POIEDIT program (actually it's shareware).
http://www.poiedit.com/
Will open most POI files from all sorts of sources (text file list, Garmin, TomTom, and many, many others), then let you prune out the dross, and save them in TomTom (or any other format)
Also very easy to (manually) create your own POI file from printed details, site reviews, etc.
