TV Bracket Mounting Advice Elddiss

I'm looking to mount a TV in our bedroom area and would really appreciate some guidance/help.20230923_115748.jpg

Our Elddis Affinity has what looks like a dedicated mounting plate for TV mounting in the bedroom area (see image).

Does anyone know how to use/remove it?

I would not remove it as there will almost certainly be a mark or damage left behind.
Commercial mounts like the one shown above are available everywhere, so follow the mounting instructions and check it can carry the weight of your TV and you should be good to go although I would remove the TV from the mount when travelling.

I agree with Raywood. Don’t remove it. The board it is attached to probably won’t take the weight of the bracket on its own and the dedicated plate is for strengthening. Also always remove the TV from the bracket when towing.

We have an Elddis product and I would not recommend removing that block no matter how unsightly it may look. It is there for a purpose.

In my opinion, it may have to come off. It could be that the bracket needs attaching to it, or behind it.

However. It appears to me because of the aerial location, that a bracket is intended to go there. I imagine that it was originally an option.

If so, there will be a method to do it. And it is likely designed for a specific bracket. (which will be at a premium price).

Ask a dealer. There is no reason why they will not advise you. You will then be free to get your own bracket and fit it yourself if you want to.

I would search on YouTube for “elddis tv bracket mounting instructions”.

Here is an example.

Removing the bracket will probably cause a lot of damage especially if glue was used to give it additional strength.

I finally got in touch with the supplying dealer and they were helpful but not very useful.

They said the panel is not removable and should be used to mount the bracket on. I asked about recommended fixings and they said the bracket fixings were designed not to penetrate the walls, but no further details. I asked about brackets they sold and was given options but told they didn't include fixings.

Somehow I get the feeling they want to charge me for fitting?

Think I will try and contact Elddis direct. Does anyone has direct email or telephone number for technical?

Normally via switchboard unless a technical advisor gives you their direct number.

We had ours fitted by the dealer to avoid any issues or comebacks. We used the Avtex bracket.

If you follow the instructions with the bracket there should be no problem. A dealer fitting does help if something goes wrong but it is difficult to see what would, provided you check the length of the screws to be sure they are the correct length.

I think the dealer's response is poor in the extreme.

My Lunar was fitted in a similar location but was reinforced in the cavity. In the OP’s case, it appears that there is a fixing block on the surface. Perhaps this is securely fitted and made from a dense material which can take screws well. Or perhaps it is typical caravan soft chipboard. That is what dealers are supposed to be able to advise customers on.

Why does the Eldis handbook not direct the owner.

If purchasing a TV bracket for home there is a plethera of surfaces and lots of methods. Therefore the fitter has to be aware. Caravans are specialist which may or may not contain hard points. Decent dealers, who care, should be able to advise.

Try asking directly at the workshop and cut out the sales person.
