TV in South of France

A few months ago I read that a new Astra satellite was to be launched which would reduce the "footprint" of UK TV channels in Europe such that reception of UK television might no longer be possible in the south of France. Has anybody information on this please?

I don't think we really know yet as I an pretty sure the change does not happen until the middle of the year. Have you looked at www.satelliteforcaravans.co.uk as there is a lot of useful info there. We will continue to take our 80cm dish with us. It might mean that we won't get the same coverage as we once did. Sometimes the footprints turn out to be better than everyone expected so fingers crossed!!
