Hi all I know this is a caravan site but I thought someone may have the answer I am looking for? I am about to rent out my house and go full time in my motorhome and was wondering what do I do about a tv Licience? I have one with my house address but as I won't be living there I assume I cannot still use it? Has anyone any ideas??

You will have to pay for a separate licence for your motorhome. You can only use a TV for free in a caravan/motorhome IF there is nobody using one at the registered address at the same time. (A bit embarrassing when you leave the kids at home!!)

You will still need a registered address somewhere, not just for your TV licence, but for driving licence, tax details, etc, etc. Maybe a family member or solicitor?
The TV rule also applies to houses in muliple occupation, ie each flat or bedsit needs a separate licence in the name of the (probably) rent payer.

We never bothered as long as there was a licence. Nothing stopping you having 2 Tv licences at your address. One for you and the other for whoever is renting the home. In the 2 1/2 years we stayed in the caravan, we never had a query. How on earth will they trace you anyway?
As for the other stuff, vehicles were registered at my father's address and it was perfectly legal. As you are travelling around leave the vehicle registered at your current address as you can still receive post there or have it forwarded onto yourself.

To actualy catch you they would have to go round a touring site checking who had a set on, knock on your door to establish your home address and assuming that has a licence send someone round to see if there is any one at home using the set there. Frankly there is more chance of the moon being green cheese.

On many occasions I wonder what they use the TV licence money for as we hardly ever watch BBC due to its diabolical content? Many years ago BBC was second to none!

Look up "Free man on the land" or go on "youtube" and see what you find about T.V licences and many other things we are being ripped off for in this country. I think you will be very suprised ,I was.

If this "Freeman On The Land" catches on, the goverment is going to have to have a good re think and make no mistake it IS catching on.
Its all about Common Law over Statute Law.
