two weeks holiday

hi all

i am this weekend embarking on a fortnights holiday in my caravan for the first time in a long while (since the kids married and left home) the van as been based on a holiday site where we have become seasonal tourists but this year my wife and i (both late fifties) have decided to go touring for a change (like we used to for many years)we intend heading south, our normal route used to be stratford -on-avon (half way) then on to the new forest and possibly devon/cornwall

we will be setting off from teesside can anyone recommend any other venues of interest other than the places i have mentioned we would like a change but not sure where to visit, two or even three stages heading south would be nice rather than a long slog.any advice would be appreciated.(i used to go all over when younger but a little rusty now

best regards

brian&joan

We're off to Brighton for 2 weeks tomorrow and are stopping over in Oxford on our way from Sheffield. Heard it's lovely but probably won't see much as we're visiting relatives. Cambridge is also worth a visit we're told. The New Forest is very pleasant and and so is Dorset. We're going to Longleat in October and have heard rave reviews about it. Not quite on your planned route though!

Have a great time. Hope the weather is kind to you especially as that means it'll be good for us too!

The Caravan Club sites at Chatsworth, Broadway and Longleat are really nice with lots to do nearby and within walking distance. They are some of our favourites but may be booked up at this time of year

Whatever you do, have a great time

why dont you try Lucksall caravan park in Mordiford near Hereford ask for pitch alongside the river Wye , large level pitches , 15 mins from Hereford town centre ,nice old house and catherdral in town centre ,As some one mentioned Cotswold is a beautiful area CC sites at Broadway ,Bourton on the water ,Burford , you wont be dissapointed with the places i have mentioned

Theres a brian on the carryoncamping forum who has just come back from Lucksall and has given it a good report, not sure if you're the same person. Colin(Bridgend) is there at the moment and he's having excellent weather.
