Does anyone know if a Sunncamp Ultima 390 is a good fit on a Bailey Ranger 470/4 series 5 ? I do plan on going to storage location to have a measure up, but I thought I'd pick some brains on here first. Thanks, Dan.

Dan,

I think you may have a few problems with the awning rail sloping towards the front of the van. I was considering buying a 390 for my Ranger 470/4 but on measuring up, decided it wouldn't work.

Have now got the Ultima 260 which fits easily however due to the poles being pretty inflexible when in position, problems can occur if your pitch isn't dead level.

Thanks for your reply - we should have measured up before we put the van back in storage - however we bought an ultima 260 and think this is a great porch awning and a dream to put up even on your own. However, we need a bigger awning for the summer holiday in Cornwall and thought the sunncamp 390 might be an option. So thank you again for your advice and this stops me again rush buying.

hi, does the series 5 Ranger not have the straight awning rail all the way to the front of the caravan. if so you should be OK with the 390, along as the length of the awning rail is long enough. These Ultima awnings designed to fit along a straight awning rail, or at least be straight for the length of the awning. Hope this helps.

Hi dan,

We have a series 5 Ranger 460/4 ( fixed bed model) which is the same lenght as the 470/4. the side door on ours is more to the front of the van than yours.

We have a 260 which starts just behind the front side wndow and the door frame and finishes just before where we have access to the external toilet, you could fit the 390 but I think it would completly cover the front side window.

Its surprising how much space there is inside the 260.

trust this is of help to you
