I went on the Silmid website for Araldite 2026 adhesive for fixing together our caravan window. The price for the adhesive said £8.51, it hought thats not to bad as a manufacture wanted £281 for new window.I carried on with the order and now found i had to have the special gun to apply it, then you have to buy nozzles for the gun, so bought 2 at £1.05 each, gotto the buy now part and found £8 p/p plus vat ,so the £8.51 ended up £34 !!!.Ther is no instructions but what the heck i've using adhesives for 20 odd years .I applied it to one side and put some clampson it then done the other side.I took a look 2 hours later and the second side was dry but the first one was still wet.Phoned Silmid tech', they could not helpbut they gave me Araldite phone number in Switzerland! !.Anyway i sent e-mail to them and got an answer right awy but it was not the reply i wanted ,so i found out they have a 0800 number and rang .Their switchboard instantley changed to English and put me through to Tech'.He then told me what i thought was the problem ie that the first ejection from the gun should have been wasted .Like paint gets oil etc on top but with this you cannot shake it so you have to waste about 50mm.The next bomb shell was that you cannot reapply on the uncured Araldite so it would have to be cleaned off.In my case the gap is so small(about 8mm to nothing over 30cm).I got as much as i could off and reapplied it and within an hour it had set.Unfortuantly because it was a double dose it spread a little more than i would have desired but job done.
