Upgrading caravan door lock

Hi,
The door lock on my 2004 Abbey Freestyle seems to be rather flimsy and I'd like to change it for something more secure and robust. I'm wondering if an old fashioned Yale type lock would fit, or are there caravan specific locks that I should look at?

I thought that it'd be an idea to upgrade the door lock...then how do you stop the windows from being ripped open or off...Gary

Milenco do a range which you should look at. Care would be required to ensure the any selected will fit your door frame. But as said above we never felt the need for one as the windows are so flimsy. Spent four weeks in France once with the door held closed with Duct tape. when travelling.

Easier to force open a window and if fitting the Yale door lock, forcing the door will create a lot of damage.

As per cars don't leaving anything valuable in it and if so not in sight.

However why even think about upgrading the lock when it is easier to get in the window? Waste of money!

My post was about a caravan door lock replacement and I was questioning the reason why.

All the door locks I have seen only work one way when you are out. Does the OP want to be locked in for his / her personal safety?

IMO all the extra locks I have seen don’t make the flimsy door and frame any stronger..

As already said the windows are easily breached so extra locks probably only delay the inevitable break in , probably causing even more damage.
May be these over the windows🤪
