v.frontera diesel auto as towcar ?

we have never had an automatic car/ have only ever driven manuals.

how do they pull? and also what is the frontera like as a towcar.

we have seen a 51 plate 2.2 tdi diesel at what seams a good price , but are we about to get stung ?
 
I`ve heard some bad reports re reliability, maybe the lack of responces speaks volumes, I wouldn`t touch one with a barge pole.
 
The frontera as a tow car is brilliant although the one we have is a 2.2 petrol, but having said that we have spoken to people with the 2.2 diesel and they have said the same as we think of the fronty but I'm not sure if they were auto or manual,hope this is of some help to you.

I have towed with a 2.5 TD Frontera until recently. No problems at all. Still have the car 90,000 miles from new. Only problems we have had has been with the air con. As a cheap 4x4 they are good, but a bit juicy
