My wife picked up one of the type that Craig and OC describe, and yes, another recommendation from here :) .

Just £30.00 from Costco.

Bought one of these, https://www.amazon.co.uk/Duronic-Upright-Cleaner-Bagless-Handheld/dp/B01N2ICDAX/ref=pd_rhf_se_s_cr_simh_0_3/259-9161296-2279417?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B01N2ICDAX&pd_rd_r=7718bd8a-1267-4b63-bbf0-84aab7b4717c&pd_rd_w=AXZf6&pd_rd_wg=BqMXQ&pf_rd_p=cd656a79-125c-4ac8-931f-bdf9f90841fb&pf_rd_r=3KC2XYVN6BFHGPSXBHK6&psc=1&refRID=3KC2XYVN6BFHGPSXBHK6. Really great, too late for you now, but because it is so powerfull you need a small paint brush to clean the HEPA filter. We have two dogs that shed hair and this is so handy and light.

Looks very similar to the Von Haus one.

They might be expensive, but the Dyson V series range take some beating.

We had a cheapy from some company and thought it was brilliant. We then used a small Dyson and was totally amazed at how much the Dyson picked up although the cheapy had been used earlier in the day.

Jeremy Hardy one said on the News Quiz that if you ever decided to move just get the Dyson out, vac up the house contents, and go. They really do suck!

Dyson are good. We are still on the original that came out years ago. Apart from a clutch and belts it has required no other parts. But their U.K. pricing for new ones is unbelievable. £249 for a cordless V7 Motörhead. $199 if you are in US. Think we will stick with the antique Dyson and the little Von Haus (et al) for a while longer. It may not be as efficient as the Dyson but some residual dust maintains our bodies immune resistance to bugs and allergies.

We have a Dyson v10 animal and take it with us, Sucks equally as well as any mains unit if not better but the filters are painful. They got to the point they needed cleaning daily. Once I realised you need to ignore Dyson instructions and put them in the washing machine with clothes on a Quick low temp wash problem solved.

I have had a report about post No.11 and whether or not it is Spam.

It does not contravene any Forum Rules and is purely informative, with the link to "best upright vacuum" giving what appears to be a balanced view, and the posters use of various units adds to the mix.

The post will remain as it appears to be a genuine response to the original question.

Our caravan didn’t come with a vacuum but instead had an ironing board. Needless to say that was quickly ditched not just to save weight but time too. We’ve never taken a vacuum in a caravan. We use easily brushed lightweight mats which can be done inside or outside. Our seating is covered with throws that can be shaken outside.
But after every trip the aged “ classic Dyson” brings it up like new.

Look at my posting from june 10th 2019 #7.

A fantastic bit of kit, we have two dogs that shed hair. Its really great. But you need a 1 inch paint brush to clean the filter it is that good. Very light as well. 230 volt.

Across many forums, first time posters who include links are viewed with extreme caution in case the link causes any computer issues.

I'm surprised at your stance.

Do you really think that I did not check the link before allowing the post??????????????????

I could not care less what other forums do or do not do and just for your information the originator is closely monitored with any new posts being flagged to us.

The software which this forum now has also checks any suspicious activity and is wildly superior to anything we have had before.

Semi-retired the old mains-powered ball Dyson and replaced with a Dyson V6 stick vacuum, picked up in the sale. Does the whole house in one charge and is much more convenient for pre/post trip cleaning (also bought some 3rd Party accessories such as a flexy hose attachment and adapter for old Dyson accessories).

Still have a little mains handheld 'Lakeland special' vacuum which lives in the caravan. Its perfect for small cleaning jobs should Mr Clumsy here make a mess, but it's absolutely deafening. I used to hoover the car interior with it, but I had to wear hearing protection if I was doing all the carpets.
