Vauxhall Recall - Real Driving Emissions

I have had a recall notice for my Insignia entitled 'Improvements Towards Real Driving Emissions'. Basically they want to reprogram the computer to squirt significantly more blue additive into the exhaust gas to reduce the level of NOX and they estimate needing to refill the blue additive tank every 1,900 miles as a result. At the moment a full tank lasts between annual services. Is this as a result of all the cheating manufacturers did when testing NOX levels in non-real word testing?

I strongly recommend waiting to see how other owners get on with this recall before you do it. Watch the Vauxhall owners forums. My model of car had a software recall to cater for people who could not be bothered to apply the handbrake when parked, but it caused even bigger problems that have never been solved since. Owners bitterly regretted going for that recall.

My car in subject to a further recall now, but I have lost trust in them.

doubt it as i have an 11 plate insignia which is a non add blu version, yours must be far far more avanced/superior in the way it deals with NOX ,frankly ad blu was the way to go all along .
