Does anyone tow with the above car model

design deisel we are thinking of buying one to tow 4 berth single axle caravan, comments please?

By all accounts they're good towcars but the Zafira-A diesel has a low towing limit - all the petrols and the Zafira-B diesel are ok.

We tow an ABI Dalesman about 1270kg on the plate never fully loaded but it pulls it fine no problems and pretty decent return on fuel our Zafira is a 2003 2.0 DTI

You've obviously got a Zafira-A. The maximum permissible towload of the 2.0 diesel version of that model is only 1050kg. You risk losing insurance and certainly warranty coverage if you tow anything more than that.

Hi I had a 1.8 comfort zafira maximum tow weight 1300kg and was using it to pull a bailey ranger 550/6 mtpl 1298, it wasnt brilliant, I changed it this weekend to a 4x4 as i was constantly dropping down to 2nd gear and thought i was thrashing the gear box too much... maybe with a lighter caravan you wouldnt have a problem....

Go to www.whattowcar.com to check most car towning weights and caravan weights, the good thing with this site is you can compare 2 cars at the same time..... I think your'll find most zafiras there..
