hi,i own a 2003 latest shape vectra 2.2 petrol sri. kerbweight 1462 and 150bhp with max towing of 1500 kgs. i am new to caravaning potentially looking to buy and tow a van within around 1100kgs laden.although on paper this seems fine, was wondering if anyone tows with my car and what they think etc, many thanks indeed.

had the 130(diesel ) and it was awsome,45 local - 57 on a run- av 32-33 towing it was brilliant,heavier van forced me to sell.would advise diesel much more economical and services are every 20000 mls highly recommend and believe me it was fast

I had a Vauxhall Vectra 2.5v6 and that towed like a dream.We now have a Vectra 2.2 Diesel and as your previous correspondent has said in words to the effect its a brilliant tow-car ,the same I would say about the petrol engined version of the 2.2.I think altogether the Vectra is a damn good car providing of course you keep it well serviced.we are very proud of ours.Good Luck and Happy Caravanning/Jim.

I have a Vectra C SRI CDTI 120. Which is a great towcar, and quite heavy at 1500 kg. Enjoy.
