Does the owners manual give any information. Or the owners forum. You could try a local independent as long as they use the correct oil and filter they would have the kit to turn of the reminder.Hi
My car oil change has come up you have so many days been in contact with Volkswagen sites Closed apart from service departments been available key workers and emergency service only
So does anyone know how to switch it off
Try a specialist independent such a VW-Audi specialist. I used one when I had a Skoda Superb and they used the specified OEM materials and for routine servicing tasks they had access and uploaded task details to the Skoda maintenance data base so the cars service history was maintained just as if it had been to a Skoda dealership. The change of the oil i cannot do i am disabled in a wheelchair but thanks for your input .
Unbeleiveable,I think Other Clives answer is spot on I would do the same by going to a main dealer. if. I could afford to, but my independant garage is staffed by motor engineers, but last time I was in there garage they did have an apprentice,
Moderator Note: A certain descriptive about the apprentice has been removed
.There is absolutely no need to be so derogatory about anyone , and that kind of thing will not be tolerated.
Thankyou for your suggestion i will wait until this present situation has improved and life is back to normalIf you use an independent garage do keep the bill so that you have proof that it was done in the case of a guarantee claim.
VW have a covid web pagehttps://www.volkswagen.co.uk/covid-19 but it is not clear on your question. It does let you know which garages are open though or you can contact them for advice.
Hi JezzerB it two years old first service it had from new ( Lockdown not done me any favours)At that sort of mileage I should hope so! Not run in yet!!!
Hi Clive that was done today as well ( At least now it not saying oil service due sent me a video on to my email address)Two years low mileage. Has it had an interim oil change? I took my Skoda diesel off of long service intervals as call me old fashioned but I stick to 12 monthly.
Our Navara is every 12500miles or 2 years-so am changing the oil myself at 6000 miles-esp with diesels-the oil even if it is synthetic soots up and isn't good for turbo bearings etc. Our minis are worse-18k miles or every 2 years whichever is first-do the same with them-oil change yearly which equates to around 6000miles. If you intend to keep the car it isn't a great cost. Mind the Nav is a bit hefty ; 6.3 litres of oil! Gulp hope my drain tray is big enough or it could be messy!!!
