We love towing with the VW Tiguan and Škoda Kodiaq, so what's the Tiguan Allspace like? Please click here to read our Tow Car Editor's first impressions.

Without wanting to undermine any of Motty's work, I suspect that a review of this car after having towed with it could be written here and now. Because what is it possible to say that hasn't been said already? 'Drives and tows as well as the five-seat Tiguan, but has a bigger boot within which are two folding seats capable of carrying very small people for very short distances. More expensive than a mechanically identical Skoda Kodiaq'. The end.

What I'd be interested to know is whether it offers the same benefits over the less expensive Kodiaq as the Passat does over the Skoda Superb (more comfortable seats, some nicer plastics, better soundproofing and less engine and road noise) and - perhaps more importantly - whether this matters. It's important in a car that is likely to spend much of its life doing long motorway journeys, but in a family SUV used a lot on school runs? I'm not sure. But if there are subtle differences between the two cars I suppose it's nice to have the choice.

I'd also be interested to know if there are any plans to tow with the VW Arteon? That's another car that uses the same engines and front or four-wheel drive systems, and is too expensive. But I just think it looks really, really good ...
