After reading something on another site about "bombing" round roads in the Highlands - please please remember that sheep roam round freely in most parts of the Highlands. Please take care especially on roads such as over Glenshee - it main seem a fast road but you are VERY likely to get sheep wandering in front of you or stopped on the edge of the road to eat. For your own sake as well as the sheep drive with care, 60 mph is fine on roads away from the glens but not where animals are about.

On the West Coast we found a few cute ginger Highland Coos wandering in the road and they have b----- big horns too, not something you would want to hit either.

Sheep sometimes like to sit on the road in misty conditions - I think they like the relative warmth of the tarmac rather than the damp grass. Amazing how well a sheep blends into a heavy highland mist ! ! !

Janet Come on, the way you are speaking you are saying that around every corner there will be a sheep standing in the middle of the road what a load of nonsence i actually live in the Highlands or part of the Scottish highlands .The highlands cover hundreds of square miles .YES there are sheep wandering about some roads but 99% of the time it is on unfenced single track roads where you would not be doing more than 30 mph the roads are that twisty and very sharp corners that you cant do more than that anyway

hope this helps others and does not put anyone off from coming up to our great country

cheers Duggie
