Yet another bank holiday with torrential rain and winds, maybe we had better change the bank holiday dates as i think it`s becoming depressing, my barby has`nt been out all year. Home farm in Somerset this time and many pitches severley waterlogged again i felt sorry for some with the amount of water thay had to endure in their awnings. BET IT RAINS AUGUST BANK HOLIDAY AS WELL!!!!!!!!!!!

Of the 41 "late May" bank holidays, 28 have been wet.

One of 3 reasons I rarely go anywhere on Bank Holidays:

Traffic delays,

Raised prices,

Crowds,

Oops that's four,

(and a fanatical devotion to the Pope).

OLD FOGEY, maybe its because you`re old and possibly retired that you can choose not to go away but as many of us work so we are only able to go away over the bank holidays and have no choice but to endure traffic, crowds, etc. Maybe when i retire i`ll go away whenever i please as well, thanks for your response anyway

Hi

We did not put the awning up, allowing us to leave early on Monday, still got very wet.

Last year we were at Bath, it rained lots, our awning had its own swimming pool, we ended up staying till the Tuesday, it might rain but we still get out and about.

This year in Somerset, Friday ok, Saturday Ok, Sunday where our friends were staying it rained all morning, we were dry, only 9 miles away. Monday a torrent, but look at the news, the north were bathing in glorious sunshine, the south very wet.

Cannot do anything about the weather except mayb'e go where the sun shines.

The sun normally shines in Spain - but friends there have just been flooded out of their campsite - so no different to here.

Dear All,

Myself and Mrs. Donnelly were at the C+CC site in Cambridge and got a nice day saturday (sat outside at the Cambridge beer festival for most of it), changeable weather on sunday and it was grim on monday as we were driving home.

Still, it could be worse. Staff writer Stacie is currently writing a travel feature in Weston Super Mare and she reckons her little Avondale is in danger of floating away...

I hate to depress you all but we have had uninterrupted blue skies and sunshine in Scotland for the whole of May.As we have been away for the same period of time we have had one of the best holidays for a long time touring up the very north of Scotland before the midgies start biting.!!!!

Arrived back late yesterday after a week near Woolacombe in North Devon.

A couple of rainy days which we can handle but the gale force winds on Monday were the worst!! Spent the whole day in the van too scared to go out in case something happened to the awning. Travel news on the local radio confirmed that we were pretty much marooned on site due to fallen trees!!

Still, the weather picked up towards the end of the week and thye sun was shining as we left yesterday (typical!!)

We're coming over to tour the UK in two week's time. I do hope that the weather isn't going make us think this is going to be a big mistake and wish we'd stayed in the sun here at home.
