Glen,

We use a Brita water filter jug. Supposed to clean up the water but also eliminates the chalky deposits that fur up the kettle and the scum we find on top of the tea with the water in some areas.

We have an Odyssey with a filter facility but never use it.

Only use the water for cooking and washing.

For drinking water we use a seperate container.

We would only use a filter abroad.

Hello Glen,

To answer you question about why you don't have a filter - Some caravan manufactures look at there customers holiday habits and may have decided that the typical purchaser of a particular model only holidays in the UK, where water supplies are generally of a known quality, where as continental supplies are more variable.

So save the manufacture money not to fit a filter unit if it is perceived that one is not necessary.

If you decide you would still like one, then you can fit one. There easily fitted in-line versions, or the type that fit to the outside wall of the caravan, the choice is yours.
