Water pump inlet

Hoping some one can tell me how easy it is to fit new retaining clips on my pump inlet. I am a little cautious in case by pulling the old ones out I have no retaining clips at all.

These are the ones I mean.
It seems my 2002 Lunar has a different inlet socket to the ones that are currently used.
The pump appears to look like this

I have three, one of which is brand new, so it would be bad news if I have to switch to a new systen as the inlet socket no longer appears to be available
Advice appreciated
Thanks Dave

Ooops, I should have added my inlet connection does not have one of those filter cartridges that my 1997 Lunar had.

Hi Dave,
The broken parts of the retaining clips will still be in the housing, just use a small phillips screwdriver or similar small diameter rod to push the broken bits inside the van, then push the new clips into place.
