Water Pump Question

I wonder if you can help me.

My water pump just keeps running and running and doesn't turn off..

I have a 1990 Elddis Cyclone GTX. It has a Carver Crystal Water System with a Whale Submersible 881 Pump and a Carver Cascade 2 Water Heater.

Basically I don't know where to start looking for the problem.

Thanks.

Ian, it is only going to be one of two, or possibly three things.

First I would have a look under the bench where the back of the water inlet is and see if there is a pressure switch in the pipework, it will be a kind of rectangular affair with a small wheel on the top, which you turn to adjust the cut off pressure.

When you shut the cold water tap, the switch should be set to switch off within 2 seconds. Turn th radjusting wheel to achieve this setting, if it makes no difference turning the adjuster, the switch is broken and needs a new one.

The other possibilities are , if the taps operate a microswitch, one of them has failed in the closed position, and needs replacement, and the last thing is a short circuit at the pump to van connection, which is making the pump operate continuously.
