water pump

hi iam having trouble with our water pump basically sometimes it decides not to work i think its the conection thats at fault, because if move the conection where it pushes into the van it works then, but its becoming a pain i tried opening the two pins out thinking it would make a better contact but its still troublesome, do the two pins need cleaning with some emery paper or is there some other fix for this any help would be appreciated cheers .h.

I had the same problem, so this weekend I cleaned the pis in the pump and as much as i could on the van, then took the filter off the pump (the bit the goes into the aquarol) gave that a clean out then put a small drop of olive oil on the spindle and turned it with a small screw driver, filled a bucket connected the pump and away it went ran the whole bucket thro, then fill it again and made sure it was pumping ok and that the olive oil had gone works great now
