water pump

hi, i have recently brought a monza 3/80 which for a 1988 is in very good condition, been out twice once in december(glad the heating worked), and the other weekend. been great but found when i tried connecting the water pump it only works off 12 volt(no problems with that). but only a dribble of water came through. now i found before hand the hose had came off and i had to reconnect it, this had what looked like a small tube inside is there a correct flow on this tube?. anyway very gratefull for any advice

When you say just a dribble of water, was tha ton the cold tap or hot tap, or both?

i only have one tap and that is cold. cheers
