Weather noise

Last week I toured the NC500 and Skye in what can only be described as a Scottish hurricane and rain . We still loved the trip and will highly recommend it. However the torrential rain pounding of the roof night after night did not allow any meaningful sleep.
My question , is there some form of thin rubber matting or foam material out there that can be bonded to the motorhome roof ? apart from the cheaper version of earplugs.

You are dead right! After three very wet nights in Santiago de Compostela we were wishing for the same thing...but what would you do about the Hekki ventilators? To our ears that was the worst source of noise. Perhaps a giant brollie?
