We're off on Tuesday for the great adventure - 8 weeks in France and Spain with no plans other than to turn right once we leave the tunnel. As we are travelling with dogs for the first time, we don't know how far we will get in a day, so we will need to be fluid. We plan to mainly use N roads and avoid the autoroutes as far as possible. Broadly, we will drift down the west side of France and then turn east through Gers, Haute Garonne and Southern Aude before going down into Spain to see family in inland Murcia. Coming back we will broadly use the same route, but see different places.
We have our ACSI card/book and the caravan club books (of course).
Since we are hoping to move to France in the next year or two, we are looking at areas we know less well, although not planning to house hunt this time.
Are there any problems with routes that anyone knows of? Or places to avoid? Do you live in southern France, or have a holiday home there? Why did you choose that particular area?
