Greetings All,
I appreciate that we are a long way from those balmy? sunny days of 2012 but can
I advise all readers of a new (to me anyway) fuel garage convenient for those using the M6-M5
route.
Asda have opened a garage adjacent to their store immediately off the Off Ramp at Junction2
of the M5 (Southbound).
This facility is bound to be use to those readers north of the border or those living in the North of England.

Just a small word of warning ...I live close enough to that jcn.to know that it can be nightmarishly busy ...especially Sat mid-day..so phone Asda and find out opening times and the exact location of the station as you could easily get in the wrong roudabout lane and it could also be on a dual carriageway with a (knowing the roads) very tight and busy turn-round area back to the M5. But on saying that I know of a filling station under the M6 at the A500 and another close to the M5 at ASDA Bristol..I just wish there was a data base produced by this forum of local stations off the Motorways..in fact I think I will start a thread asking just that.

As you come off the M5 south at J3 Oldbury, go past the Fire Station entrance / exit & its the next entrance before getting back on the motorway.
Please don't block the Fire station exit

I rekon you should get down the M5/6 route with just a copuple ofpints of fuel in a Defnder - just enough to get onto the motorway, breakdown, and be towed or transported for the rest of the journey - Happy new year
