Whale water pump - leaves a few gallons

Hi, after moving from a motorhome to a caravan, I am for the 1st time using a Whale water pump. The problem is it leaves a good few gallons in the Aquaroll which means I am only getting 30 to 35 gallons of water.

Is this normal or do I need to adjust how I position the pump?

Reposition the pump. It sounds as if it may be turning back on itself. You need to make sure its suction stays near to the bottom of your Aquaroll. Some users place a small weight on the pump. I didn’t find that necessary as I could get it to keep in position.

Some use “pipe snap” but not sure it’s compatible with drinking water standard pipework.

Only insert it in the Aquaroll so it rests upright on the bottom.
Are you using the Aquaroll upright or on its side. If the latter, try the former.

I look into weights, thanks

Some folks strap a straight piece of something (20mm plastic conduit springs to mind) to the pipe to keep it straight. I store the pipe straight in the gas locker rather than coil it up in the sink or shower, this means it stays relatively straight when put in the Aquaroll.
