whalemaster o rings help please

Hi all just changed o rings but fin pump tight to fit and remove i been told to use Vasiline any more sugestions please mark
 
Hi paddy, what I did was to spray some silcone lubricant onto a piece of cloth and wipe the o ring with it. Now works as smooth as anything.
