Probably is the best thing for the job, when it works. It's like all Landies, great at what they do, except only when THEY feel like it.
Land Rovers are just one of those things. You either love them, warts and all or you don't. I can trade a little reliability just so I don't have to drive a non-descript eurobox. I have the Range Rover for everyday stuff and my beloved Series 2a (which the Wife hates BTW) for the more fun stuff and rallies etc.
Think of them like the VW Beetle. Very like Marmite. Love it or hate it, there's not much middle ground. Either way it's an Icon.
And no, my Land Rover doesn't leak oil, it just marks its territory
