what caravan club site is your favorite and why?

We tend to go more for CL's these days but if we go on a larger site always look for a CC site. Chester will always be a favourite as it was the first site we ever went to. Edinburgh is great as well because of - well, Edinburgh! Others we would always return to are Brighton, Henley, Morn Hill, and Richmond,

broadway was our 1st and it does leave a soft spot.

We also tend to mostly use Caravan Club sites. Picking a favorite is difficult because all of the sites we have visited have been to an excellent standard, its only the location which has made a difference. Short list for favorite would include:

North Ledaig - scenery wonderful, pitches next to the shore, convenient for trips around area including Oban.

Rowntree Park, York - Very handy for visiting York and all its attractions, easy walking distance to city centre means you can park up the car and forget about driving for a while.

Fairoaks, Chester - Convenient for visits to Chester, normally make use of the park and ride at the gates to the Zoo. The zoo itself worth a day out with the kids. Large shopping centre just up the road with multiscreen cinema. Also just minutes off the motorway so very easy to access.

Southport - Again within easy walking distance of the town, also free bus service to town centre just along the road from the site. Situated next to large park.

Blackpool South - Minutes from the M55, easy access to and from the town's attractions.

Like them all, just depends on what we are looking for at that particular time.

we really like the cc site in suffolk, White House Beach.Lovely walks on the beach for the dogs and lots to do in the area.just wish there was a site in essex for those short weekends.

my VERY fav site is Crossburn Caravan park in Peebles, Scottish Border. It is a private family run site and run very well, it offers super pitches (waste and water)they have a brand new toilet block. It is child, 4X4, dog and even octogenarian friendly!!!

1. Tredegar House/Park

2. Pembrey

Brilliant for families.

Probably our favourite is Clumber Park in Sherwood Forest. It's especially attractive for an autumn break when the leaves are falling. It's like green snow falling all around you.

Our most favourite CC site is at Newtonmore, just south of Aviemore and close to the A9. We return to this site time and time again. We prefer the grass pitches rather than the standard car park type hardstanding. Views are fantastic. Tranquil, quiet and if you go in May early June you miss the dreaded midgies.

Not keen on Troutbeck. When there are a few caravans on there (and I have found this with quite a few Club Sites) it starts to resemble a Caravan Sales Warehouse. Row upon row of caravans.

One of our favourite sites has to be West Ayton near Scarborough. A really nice, spacious site with very friendly wardens. It has 3 play areas for kids including a games room and a large open field.

Scarborough is about 4 miles away with places like Filey and Pickering slightly further afield. There's a great beach at Hunmanby Gap worth seeking out.

We've been for 2 years runnning now and hop to go back again next year.

For peace and tranquility you can't beat Englethwaite Hall and Ennerdale Bridge both in Cumbria. Brilliant

Can't think of a bad CC site off the top of my head !

Favourite one is difficult to choose, we always use CC sites.

Contenders would be:

Silverbank at Banchory, we use this a lot for weekends as its local.

The Invercauld at Ballater, as above.

Yellowcraigs, use this once or twice a year.

Barbirnie Park, just been there for October half term.

Edinburgh, great in the winter, normally try and get down there for February half term.

Maragowan.

Garlieston.

North Ledaig.

Bunree.

New England Bay.

Oh the list goes on and on! Basically we have stayed on every CC site in Scotland and never come across a bad one. Pity the same can't be siad of the C&CC!
